About

Townsend is a senior at Washington University in St. Louis, pursuing a B.F.A. in studio art with a concentration in painting and a minor in writing. Her work explores worldbuilding, storytelling, and archetypes, along with the ways these narrative devices allow us to understand our own situations. 

Townsend has been featured in shows such as the 2020 Congressional Show in the US Capitol, The Nature of Memory and Unconscious State of Being in Florence, Italy, and ouch, the Washington University in St. Louis Junior BFA show. Her work has been collected by the Gephardt Institute, Italian curator Pietro Gagliano, and other private collections. Additionally, she has embarked on work exchanges for creative projects in Waianae, Hawaii; Whangarei, New Zealand; Wincanton, England; and Sao Domingos, Portugal.
