Townsend loves stories. She has been a raft guide, glitter artist, lifeguard, and private chef. She works primarily on duralar, interested in creating work that creeps out of the frame and into our reality. Her work explores cognitive dissonance, mythology, and archetypes, as well as the ways we choose to interpret our circumstances. 

Townsend has been featured in shows such as the 2020 Congressional Show in the US Capitol, The Nature of Memory and Unconscious State of Being in Florence, Italy, and ouch, the Washington University in St. Louis 2025 BFA thesis show. Her work has been collected by the Gephardt Institute, Italian curator Pietro Gagliano, and other private collections. Additionally, she has embarked on work exchanges for creative projects in Waianae, Hawaii; Whangarei, New Zealand; Wincanton, England; and Sao Domingos, Portugal.
